Does anyone have experience with a good company in the Pantanal for photography of the Jaguars?

I went to the Pantanal with Javier Zurita, based out of Quito, Ecuador, and have also taken trips with him to Colombia and Ecuador, and will be going to Panama with him in September. He is an outstanding photographer, and a hard-working, well-organized tour leader. Everything went well and ran smoothly. I would highly recommend him. You can find him at javierzuritaphotography.com.

Hi Glenn,
I lead jaguar safaris in Pantanal in case you have interest in coming with me. You can see my trips at www.BlackwoodSafaris.com
If you want to book on your own, I recommend my provider: https://www.jaguarwildlifetours.com
This family is the family that started jaguar tourism to offset the costs of jaguar predation on their cattle ranch. They literally invented the industry in Pantanal. They also work with Piuval Posado and Impacto and can arrange a stay at the eco ranch for you. Piuval is the “model” ranch—the first to work with Impacto to minimize jaguar predation through prevention. It’s a working cattle ranch (2500 head) and horse ranch (400 head), and have had NO predation for two years despite a healthy population of jaguars on the property. I include 3 nights at Piuval on my trips; we reliably see Giant anteaters, tapirs, capuchin monkeys, and plenty of birds and other wildlife, co-existing on the ranch, which maintains lots of natural areas.
Let me know if I can help further.
Take care,
Karen

I mentioned this in my talk last night, I went with Henrique Olsen and I would highly recommend him - a great guide and photographer. You can find him at https://henriqueolsen.com/

Thanks everyone for the great referrals. I am going to review each. Has anyone gone to the Pantanal in October or early November? If so, how was it? Thanks again Peter for the excellent presentation last night.

I visited during the mid-late Oct. First if you go then be prepared for it to be hot. We usually went back to the hotel midday, but on one day we were watching a jaguar hunt so we stayed out much later and it was around 110 degrees midday. Our sightings were good and we did see jaguars trying to hunt, but no successes like Peter showed. We also didn't see cubs in the North Pantanal the year we went (2019). If you want to arrange your own private trip (individual or group of friends) we had a fantastic Brazillian Guide Fred Taraves https://www.instagram.com/fred.brasilaventuras/.
