Survival on the Serengeti
Subject:
Cheetah and Wildebeest
Location:
Serengeti NP, Tanzania
Description:
While in the Ndutu area of the Serengeti, a lone female cheetah sat by a tuft of grass. Not overwhelmed by the static pose she struck, we decided to stay hoping something would happen. Unknown to us, the cheetah saw a stray young wildebeest that got separated from the herd. The cheetah went into full run and the chase began. To see this occur in short grasses made us all fell very privileged. After the kill was made, the mother called in her two cubs. It was an ultimate Serengeti event.
