Cheetah Pair

What delight to spend time with and watch a beautiful Cheetah female with her almost grown cub. We were able to watch this pair lounge in the sun as well as play together for over an hour. Cheetah cubs have a high mortality rate due to predation and perhaps even genetic factors (due to low genetic diversity) with up to 90% dying within their first year. Some have noted however that the Cheetah population in the Serengeti is increasing, due in part to the females having better mothering skills.
