I'm interested in off-camera lighting brackets. I have a Wimberly Head Version II. I could imagine situations where I'd like to use two flashes. I've seen setups that allow that in the distant past, but haven't seen any recently. Of course, there's always the possibility of a second tripod or rock for the second (slave) flash.


B&H is recommending a single flash above the camera on an F-9. This seems like it could accommodate a flash with a Better Beamer flash extender. With enough money for add-ons, it could made be quite flexible. I'm wondering if there isn't something simpler, less expensive that does as well.


What have you experienced? What do you recommend?

I'm afraid my question wasn't perfectly clear. Here's a rephrasing: If I'm photographing wildlife, I may want a 2-flash system that's all in one piece with my camera and tripod. That way I can move a few feet this way or that, and have the one or two flashes still aligned with my lens.

Please share any experience or knowledge you have about this sort of flash setup.

The Wimberley flash brackets are fantastic. They're pricey, but once you use them you'll be pleased.

You might want to consider the F-2 Macro Flash Bracket because it can be used to hold a flash up and away from your telephoto and also for macro shooting. If you get two M-1 modules, they make a great platform for stabilizing a telephoto on a beanbag (look here).
