Bob and I plan to be out in Karval many days between May 1st and June 15th. If you're interested in joining us, please let us know at Stockers@StockerPhotos.com. If you want to go without us, contact Carl Stogsdill at 719-446-5354 to make arrangements. His wife's name is Cherry. Be sure to ask how many photographers are expected in the area on days you're thinking of being there. We don't want more than a few people at a time at any swift fox den.

Mountain plover nests are just a scrape of bare dirt. it's important to have someone with you who knows where nests are located if you enter fields where they are likely. I came within a few feet of accidentally destroying one last year. Let's not make this very uncommon bird even less common.

If you're curious about Karval, visit the photo album at:

Not included in the photo album are a number of things of cultural/historic interest, such as abandoned ranch buildings, farm scenes and a variety of domestic animals.

There is a restaurant in Karval currently, photo-worthy in its own right as well as able to provide you a meal.
