D500 and Mac Thumbnails

Anyone have a solution?

My new D500 and Mac OS - thumbnail icons do not show up. Anyone have any info as to when Apple will release an update to make this possible? I checked on line and couldn't find a thing. I can see the RAW thumbnail in the Apple software called PHOTOS which leaves me scratching my head that the Operating System won't show the thumbnails of RAW files. Any ideas??????

Do you have OS X El Capitan installed and you are using Nikon RAW L format? See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205272

It looks like support for the D5 and D500 was added with this OS X release, but only for the RAW L format. Good luck with it.

After talking to you last night, I was able to duplicate the problem this morning. Larry is correct. You need to set image size to large. Image menu-->Image Size-->NEF(RAW) select RAW L. Compression is not a problem. Other sizes do work in Photos but not Preview or the Quick preview with the space bar. Strange

THANK YOU Larry and Terry! I had OS 10 but it was Yosemite, not El Capitan. I downloaded El Capitan but it was version .6. I then went to the UPDATES to get version .9. I opened my D500 folder on my desktop with the D500 pics and I saw photos - Much appreciated guys - you're the best!

Great What was the first thing I asked you last night? ;-) I didn't think you were shooting smaller images
